A 14-year-old girl, who was studying at Çaldıran Technical and Industrial Vocational High School in the Çaldıran district of Van, was sexually abused by a 52-year-old bus driver, named K. A., who lived in Yuvacık (Terkız) village. Allegedly, the girl denied the incident in the first statement she gave because of K. A’s threats, and confirmed the incident in the second statement.
Arrest warrant for bus driver
After the girl’s statement under the supervision of a lawyer, an arrest warrant was issued for the perpetrator K. A. After the incident, the Gendarmerie raided the village, while the bus driver disappeared.
The girl was handed over to her family
The 14-year-old boy, whose statement was taken at the prosecutor’s office, was handed over to his family. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
