According to the news of the Mesopotamia News Agency, a new decision is added every day to the decisions that will not be canceled for the concerts of Kurdish artists and plays in Kurdish. Amed City Theater’s “Don Kîxot” and Theater Mencel’s “Hay Lo Dîsa Tevlîhev Bû” plays also got their share of bans. “Technical directions” were put forward to prevent the staging of the play “Hay Lo Dîsa Tevlîhev Bû” about the scene on May 31 in Tatvan district of Bitlis.

Technical breeze!

Perinaz Delazy, one of the actors of the “Hay Lo Dîsa Tevlîhev Bû” theater, said that the subject was “There is no electricity in the panel, there is a technical problem”. Expressing the issue with milk safety, the district governor’s office and the trials in Tatvan, Delazy said, “We gave the necessary permission to the production of the police and district governor’s office. The Cultural Center replied, ‘Cancelled. But the day to be banned is about the future of other programs. We are getting ready to receive training in the we department for the ‘technical problem. We said, ‘We will play the game no matter what problems arise’. “We will re-evaluate your application to us,” he said.

‘Prohibitions cannot stop’

Noting that the main problem is not the technique, Delazy said that the bans and obstacles that have been going on for years have been given different reasons recently. Pointing out that there have always been bans on Kurdish culture and art, Delazy emphasized that the bans did not yield any results because the audience took ownership of Kurdish music and theatre. Delazy said, “With these bans, they can neither stop us nor get results. Art will continue to be made in Kurdish. Not today, not tomorrow. But these games will definitely be played, Kurdish games will continue,” he said.

Delazy said: “We would have liked to have had other discussions on games in Kurdish, but we still talk about prohibitions, oppression and obstructions in the 21st century. We hope that these bans will come to an end and that everyone will sing in their own language.”

‘We will continue without bowing’

Theater Mencel actor Ferhat Aslan stated that this is not the first time they have faced bans. Noting that the rhetoric “Kurdish is not forbidden” has no equivalent in practice, Aslan said, “We continue our cultural and artistic activities in a forbidden language. The bans continue for different reasons. Sometimes it is banned completely, sometimes our games are canceled for reasons that do not fill the walnut shell. They always cause trouble. Despite this hardship and trouble, we will continue to do our art without bowing our heads.”

‘We will improve Kurdish art’

Emphasizing that they will continue to be on the stage despite the bans, Aslan said: “The purpose of the bans is that we stop playing these games. If we abandon these games, we will be betraying our people. Just as Kurdish art has reached a good level today, we will work to bring it to a better level from now on.” Aslan called for “our people to continue to protect Kurdish art, theater and music”.
